Building strong, confident, and creative youth requires a holistic approach to education, and ENACT embraces this approach by teaching social and emotional skills through a variety of drama-based services for the entire school community.

Using a combination of developmental theatre activities, reflective role-play, and guided facilitation our programs give students and those invested in their education, the tools they need to transform their lives - in their homes and in their schools.

ENACT's programs can be individually tailored to address specific needs or issues within a school or environment. Led by a diverse team of talented, highly trained teaching artists, our programs promote self-awareness and behavior change, while building social and emotional skills within an environment that is safe, inclusive, and validating. Our interactive programs keep participants engaged while encouraging them to recognize their own behavior and learn important life skills like:

  • Active listening
  • Decision-making
  • Conflict resolution
  • Problem-solving
  • Self-motivation
  • Self-confidence
  • Non-confrontational communication

Our teaching artists, who are professional actors, are trained and supported by licensed drama therapists and social workers, who are also working to evaluate, assess, and identify best practices within the increasingly important field of social and emotional education.

ENACT is a NYC Department of Education-designated approved vendor of services to all NYC public schools under code ENACT015. Our programs can be funded through, but not limited to, Title I/Free Lunch, Title IV, Attendance Improvement/Dropout Prevention (AIDP), Tax Levy, Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention (ESD/SVP), and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
